Relapse?
I honestly don't know; I guess it wouldn't be a relapse if there is no alcohol involved. I like beer but wine was my demon; if I had something that tasted like wine (even if NA), I suspect that I would be triggered; I wouldn't want to risk it.
I have heard two views on this. Some people say that it is fine and other people feel it might be a trigger to drinking. I have gone to parties and had non alcoholic beer. It does not make me want to drink and I do not obsess over the next one and think about nothing but drinking non alcoholic beer. I do not consider it a relapse. To me it goes back to using wine or vanilla extract in cooking. Both contain alcohol but are not going to make me go back out there. I do not however eat cakes that are soaked in rum because that makes me feel really weird.
I don't think so. But with all the non alcoholic choices available, why would you choose to drink something that resembles an alcoholic beverage?
It may not be a relapse, but ask yourself, are you edging toward one? Are you hoping NA beer will fill some void that drinking filled?

Most non alcoholic beers contain a small amount of alcohol. I think it's about 0.05%. The only one which is truly alcohol free is Cobra. Believe me I have gone down this route in the past & always ended up drinking again... Gave me a false sense of security.. Is it a relapse?? In my case with the normal non alcoholic beer it was.. Wouldn't recommend it but hey we are all different.
I would not consider it a relapse. Having a "near-beer" with no intention of or success at achieving intoxication isn't what I consider consumption. But -- reigniting a taste for beer is probably unwise if your grip on sobriety is anywhere close to tenuous.
(People sometimes seem to be in a rush to rock the boat, I have not yet understood the attraction. At almost a year since I had a drink, I still try to avoid anything that looks like it might present a relapse risk situation. There are no style points to be had in sobriety. Solid, plain, vanilla, reliable, no-surprises -- yes please!)
