(EGBOK)-Everything is gonna be ok!
Hi my Nick name is Buck and I'm brand new here. I'm also pretty green in recovery I've been sober going on 21 days now. I actually got introduced to this program in December of 2012 for the first time by way of a court ordered drug stop program for possession of meth.
So I did the required treatment for 1 year and stayed clean while getting my felony dismissed. During that time I actually fell in love with AA and the fellowship. However I did not jump into action and eventually had some slips after 1 year and 3 months of staying clean. I could tell you many reasons why I slipped but at the end of the day I know I just wanted to get high.
As I said earlier I'm back on track now and being more proactive like taking care of me. I've suffered chronic sciatica/back pain for years and simply self mediated in the past with copious amounts of alcohol and drugs. Well now that I'm sober I finally have health insurance I recently got a MRI. Low and behold I found out that I have a ruptured disc and I'm scheduled for back surgery this coming Monday.
I'm hopeful this is gonna be the solution I'm looking for. It's just a out patient surgery will be in and out hopefully in 4 hours. It's called a microdisectomy same surgery that Tiger Woods recently had so no golf for me this summer . I've already set up my aftercare plan where my pain meds if needed will be doled out.
I tell all of you this because my disease is trying to break me down in this process and be filled with fear. However, I know when I trust in God the fellowship of AA and vigilant prayer EGBOK everything is gonna be ok! As my good friend told me don't worry on this one God's got it!
Hope everyone is having a great day so far,
Buck
