Smile Just Starting this journey

Hello,
Want to introduce myself, I have been drinking heavy for the past 2 years. Seems I couldn't get enough at times, I have been very fortunate that I haven't had any problems with the law yet.

Thanks for the welcome. I have been wondering how to deal with the social gathering and craving a drink, hoping this site will help me understand
more.

Welcome Rodrdh

I stayed away from social gatherings where there'd be alcohol for a while - it was just easier for me that way. I had no confidence in my ability to turn down a drink.

I had to let those 'sobriety muscles' grow.

Doesn't mean you need to be a hermit tho - think of things to do that don't involve alcohol....sports, exercise, hobbies, interests, going for a pizza, for coffee or to a movie etc..

As for cravings - there are some great tips here

I'm glad you've joined us, Rod
