So my GP

I took my husband in with me to make sure I told them everything.

I've got a referral for an alcohol service which covers talking therapy, detox and medication. He's given me some diazepam for any withdrawal symptoms and told me to cut down before the referral goes through or, better yet, abstain.

Positive day one!

I'm feeling ill from my binge yesterday and do want a drink. Abstaining though, almost made it through day one.

It's 8pm and usually I'd be on the wine by now. Instead I've got a sparkling apple juice (I put it in a wine glass for 'comfort'). Hubby asked if I minded if he had a glass, said no as it is Friday night and he's been a superstar (despite my post eater about him!)

Not sure how tonight sleep wise will go. Will keep the site close by.

Thank you for all of the encouragement today xx

I like to mix cranberry juice with sparking water. Good luck tonight! Hang in there!

Thanks everyone.

I've just had a diazepam, not because I was feeling symptoms rather my brain plays tricks on me and I need a good nights sleep.

Day two will start without a hangover, hopefully a better day. Today has been tough but I'm pleased I know I have somewhere to go for a safe detox.
