I'm very happy to say that I'm on day 8 including a sober weekend! Woo hoo! Recovering is just as much about internal healing as the physical healing. Step outside of your box and tell someone how nice they look today. Open the door for someone. Tell someone of Facebook who's lost a loved one that your thinking of them. Tell someone on SR how much you care about them when nobody else understands. Basically do good for other people and it will help you heal. It's helping me heal.

Congrats! I'm also on Day 8 and got through my first weekend intentionally sober. I was around a lot of booze yesterday and was proud to keep abstinent. Sparkling water with a sweet mixer works just as well for me!

I made my wife's day. She did not have to
clean my room or pick up a billion beer cans!
Only 50 hours out of 12 days of detox and our
relationship is already beginning to mend.
