Cool SERIOUS Business

If you don't learn to balance your life, take care of that amazing body you've
been given. Sooner or later, you'll find you're in trouble, and possibly to late.

Is that what you want?

I've brought this topic up, because I'm watching someone deal with this today.

It's not a pretty site. This person, never tried to help themselves.

Well guess they did some what. They would give up the booze for small
periods of time, than go into crazy over kill with sugar, icecream etc.
Yeah swap one addiction for another.

Today it's to late for this person. Their bad choices, and not
trying to help themselves, gave them diabetes. Today a foot needs
to be taken from them. Sugar readings are out the roof, everything
is out of whack.

Enough of that, if you think I'm trying to scare you. You bet I am. This
is serious business. You can change things, I can change things, and I am today. A lot of people at SR have changed things, and living a safer,
healthier life.

One more thing to think about.

When a person makes a BAD choice, it affects everyone around them.

That's where I am today. I know this person very well, and the continued
bad choices is affecting their family, in a horrible way.

We can make every possible excuse in the world as to why
we continue to make bad choices, can't we? I drink because, my life is hard.
I drink because I'm sad. I drink because I'm happy. I drink because life
sucks....on and on it goes.

Then the day comes where we have to say, I can't drink now because it's make me sick beyond repair.

Will it have been worth it???

On that note. Do what ever it takes to help yourself. Let the gift
of SR help guide you. Always know you're not alone. We're all
walking along side of you.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Make changes, baby steps. It will bet easier. I PROMISE you this.

sorry to hear about the one close to you Gus not taking care of themselves

I have a friend who is sober in AA who also has diabetes
a while back he had the toes cut off his foot
he still at times will be seen at AA meetings eating donuts
I don't understand this ??
now he says that due to more infection in his leg
the doctors have told him that they may have to cut more of his leg off

it's sad
