Getting there
Getting through day 4 of a horrible withdrawal and I'm starting to feel much better. Today feels like one of those mild hangovers - I'm sure someone can identify - all day with a mild temperature and feeling knackered. My kind of Monday - Thursday work days until I picked up a drink again to prolog the misery.
It's Friday, yeah, just another day but a standard excuse for me so need to stay strong. The AV has been at work today. Hmmm, 'wouldn't you be less tired after a drink' 'that withdrawal from me wasn't that bad, you feel well enough to have a beer' 'other people have had far worse' 'try me again', 'all of London are out as it's Friday' etc etc...nasty piece of work!! Hope someone identifies with that....
In reality most of London will be doing something very productive like being with friends and family. I would feel less tired if I got a nap and NO AV that withdrawal was hideous for me and I have to focus on ME!
So, Keeping it in today, like my name! A night and home, alcohol is not accessible nor an option, and some posts on here :-) I have written down how bad the feelings were the last three days and will be reading often tonight.
Hope everyone is OK.

Well done on 4 days Keepintheday!
I'm on day 3 myself. Funny how we can easily forget how miserable withdrawal is, and that AV constantly waiting to strike.
We got this, I have my son over the weekend so will have less time to be on SR, but will post a couple times a day.
Usually a friend "Weasel1966" starts a weekend thread, I'll yank his doorbell to ask for his usual inspiring threads, hope to see you there

Hi thepatman, if you don't mind me asking how are your withdrawals by comparison to the last time?

Hi folks
Thanks for all the support. I immersed myself in some movies tonight with tea and toast! Helped a lot, just relaxing and I got the best feel good films out to watch.
Going to stay with my sister this weekend who doesn't drink but I will be taking the tablet with me so will check in here.
Best wishes to all

Congrats on day 4. 4 days is a big thing!
The voice telling you to drink is there for all of us in the beginning. If drinking was that great, we wouldn't have given up, please try to remember that.

Good work keepintheday! Hope you're feeling better this morning. When I crave, I think about how tired I've been since I quit and that makes me realise how much I've put my body through over the years. Hopefully you'll be waking up with a smug 'yeah I did it!' Grin on your face today- I know I did
