Daughter's Cancer
Daughter's Cancer
My 28 yr old daughter has stage 4 cancer which has metastasized to the lung, bone, and lymph systems. At this point cure is not an option. So needless to say things are not looking good.
Last week I believed her passing would be a lot sooner than later but there may be some good news to share. She is on a very new drug that attacked the cancer at a genetic level. Today for the first time since this night mare started she seems a little bit better in stead of worse. The hardest thing in this ordeal has been watching the downward progression.
My sobriety is solid with the knowledge there is no problem a drink won't make worse and I thank God for each day he allows me to have her.

There isn't a day that goes by when you and your family aren't in my thoughts MIR.
As a parent, this must be the hardest thing to face.
I will pray for you all. Your commitment to sobriety inspires me.

Blessings your ways.
Your thread reminds me that if someone like you going trough the worst possible situation in life and remain solid in your sobriety, that I should stop having my poor me pity fits and start counting my blessings instead of complaining all the time.
I thank you for that, Sincerely. I will pray for you and your daughter.
