Hey everyone- wondering how many of you are in a methadone program; has it helped or harmed your recovery? I'm on day 4 and trying very hard this time but am already scheming... There is a clinic not far from me and I have transportation but it said that you have to test positive for opiates at the clinic. How long do they stay in your system? Thanks in advance for your kind comments

Sounds really counter productive to me to go through all this and use again tho?

Trying to beat drug tests sounds like a messy way to live too.
Aren't you tired of that stuff?

What kind of recovery support do you have?

I was on methadone for 4 years. I gotta say it got me back to being a functional human being and away from risky behavior such as drug dealers on the street etc. and I personally am not against it to initially get you off pills, heroin etc,

But it is just a new set of chains that you are bound by. And still quite expensive.

I was then just dependent on another opiate. Long lines every morning at the clinic. Was not convenient that is for sure.
