My ex screwed me over in S.S.

Well, I retired from work, so I went to the S.S. to apply. When they brought it up I made nothing from 1983 till 2000. I was in business with my x for those years. He always did the taxes. He put it all up as his income. They told me I could go after half, but it would cut his check down and I know he is just making it. I am angry inside and trying to get over it. I guess I will apply for my now husbands S,S. as it is more then I get, but man, I wonder sometimes if the troubles with the x will ever stop showing up. I am tired of his bull even after being divorced for 13 years. Just venting. It is way better then drinking. LOL
Thanks for being here for me. I am done now.

Hey Hunt! I'm so sorry you are still having such loss and frustration over your ex !
you know, I love the phrase "what comes around goes around"He just keeps digging deeper to the "comes around" part. 13 yrs you say? you didn't drink over this, that's a miracle in itself. When it comes to finances I have to give it over to my HP. That is my source of supply. Not SSI not child support (which I never got anyway) keep doing the next right thing, you are doing great!! Xoxo

He made that choice when he failed to pay your self-employment taxes for 17 years.

Do what you gotta do, but the law is on your side.

Thanks for letting me vent. My husband and I are both good with money, so we will be okay, it just made me made. It reminds me why he is my ex. You all are the best. I feel way better now, just letting it go.

I kinda think it's our responsibility to manage our own finances......ex or not, today you may want to make sure you know what's going on with your taxes, etc!

I wish you well!
