Based on your reply to my comments, 2muchpain, and your ideas around "putting people out" with your anticipating that they'll make the time to respond to your venting, it sounds like a trust issue. Everyone of us has been burned, beaten and betrayed by other people in our lives. It makes up a large part of life, for better or worse.
In my early years, during those times when I had trouble trusting other people, I often fell victim to trusting the wrong people, if only because I didn't have much experience with trusting good people, but also because I was longing for human contact. Nowadays, I don't spend any time with people I know I can't trust. Sobriety provides for the opportunity to know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em.

I find your comments refreshing!
No one wants fluff. Being honest and being raw is welcoming!
I think most of us alcoholics are defiant, so when you say don't respond, you bet your ass we will! Lol.
I'm listening, so I hope that makes you feel less alone:-)

2much, I don't know if I can be of help here, but I'm with ya. My wife passed 3 years ago. I can't work anymore because of health problems. I do at least have a small dog. I DO understand "lonely". Hope all the best for ya.

I didn't think of it that way. I think I still have a lot to learn. Your saying,
I'm listening reminds me of the Frasier show. It's one of my favorite. Whenever he says, that, I'll think of you.
