Got up early, ate a proper breakfast, exercised, did grocery shop, read for an hour, had a proper lunch...exercised again, did some chores around the house and then did a home-made vegetable soup. I caught and ignored the AV once or twice. Spare time is my main enemy at the moment. This is about the time I would have a drink...I'm not going to. My gf poured one for herself and I refused, she didnt push.

Sounds like a good start to the day. Is your GF aware that you are trying to quit? Since you refused it infers that perhaps she offered you one? One of the things you might need to do differently this time around is set some boundaries.

Not really an offer, more a 'I take it you're not joining me?' type remark. But yeah, I see your point.

Good for you. Sounds like you're off to a good start. Refusing that drink was wise. Just think of the misery you missed. And, yes, talk to your girlfriend about quitting. Her support would be invaluable.

Thanks for the oosituve comments everyonem much appreciated.

Noon on Day3. I set my alarm last night to be up before dawn. I was up and out the door before furst light with the camera and binoculars - I recently took up bird watching as an excuse to get out more. Got some sunrise pics and saw the local wildlife going about its business. I forgot how much I love wondering about in the countryside! Got caked in mud, but it set me up for the day.

I'm going to do the same tomorrow, but different route.

Anyway, time for lunch

James - Awesome on your start of day 3. Plan to include some fun things like bird watching is great. Stay busy. You'll find that being sober allows you to enjoy so much more of life. Again, congrats on where you are and stay strong!

Good going James.

I love photography and taking pictures of wildlife, too. Just an amateur but get some good pics sometimes. Nothing better than being out in nature.

Apparently I can't spell! That should have said '...positive comments everyone. 'Still trying to get used to using the tablet.

Day 4 today, another early start although it absolutely poured it down last night so I didn't go out this morning - too much mud!

Me too Kris, not a professional by a long shot (pardon the pun).
