Aa meeting

Well Hi,
I have been Sober now since News Years Eve (3 Weeks) I have been sober before but when I give up the meetings, I get a false sense of security before I know it I'm drinking again.

Anyway I live in a Little Coastal town called Yeppoon in Queensland Australia. I had this urge to get to a meeting last night, There were none in Town so I had to travel along a country Road for 45Km not knowing exactly where I'm going, one headlight only on my ute, and dodging Kangaroos.

Yes I made it to the meeting after asking a nice service station manager for directions as my Navman for some reason didn't want to work.

I think all of these individual elements were somehow some test, maybe it was a higher power testing my commitment or how genuine I am .
Anyhow I did get up at the meeting and addressed the 8 members in front of me, I was shaking, like a leaf and my tongue all twisted up.
I felt embarrassed, I felt ashamed because I had already been here before too many times. But the members did embrace me to their group.
That was very settling for me.

Awesome that you made it! Whatever state I am in, I always feel better after a meeting. Dodging kangaroos though. Sounds like dodging deer here.

Glad it was a positive experience

Hope you get that headlight fixed though, spud - apart from the 'roo aspect, the local constabulary take a dim view of unroadworthy vehicles....

Yes very much the same Ruby but yes I was really in Panic mode as this was as you/all know that these meetings are very important. Now I have to dig up boxes and go through them to find the Big Book then I will feel a little at ease

Congrats for going to any lengths to get to a meeting. The whole dodging Kangaroos was the high light of my day. Too funny for a California usa, girl.

Hey Grandma thanks for your comments and I'm glad to have made a California Girl smile
"Well east coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when Im down there"

I will get there one Day

As you folks say "good on ya." Congratulations on going to lengths to get to a meeting. With that determination I'd give you high chances of remaining sober.

BE WELL
