Hi there. I'm on month 3 of no alcohol and have noticed in the past couple months both my sense of smell and taste changing, especially with onions…they're a lot more, well, oniony! Hair spray and deodorant are more pungent and smell different on me (body chemistry changes?), too.

Is this something you exerienced as you went through recovery? Did you have to change products and what you were eating because you were so affected?

I actually liked it and food tasted lovely. I do seem to have aquired a very acute sense of smell. but I don't mind. Perhaps it was just all supressed by the alcohol xxxx

I think it might be that the brain is healing and your senses are coming back as they should be. I noticed it too, and it was a welcome change.

I noticed it too. I think my senses were suppressed when I was drinking. Just another downfall of being in the "fog"
