Day 3 and my house has never been so clean...

I seem to have a ridiculous amount of energy today....not "let's go salsa dancing" energy - more like the manic, undirected kind. I put it to use by washing floors, scrubbing toilets and cleaning out closets. Not complaining - at least I have something to show for my Saturday other than a hangover! Anyone else have a similar experience?

God, I wish!! Aarrggghhh!
I had a list of chores planned today and I just was tired... So I gave in to it and let my body rest...
Maybe tomorrow!!! :-) :-)

I'd give you my address Chrissy but the air fare would be prohibitive lol.

I'm glad you have energy - I had that sometimes too - it was great

Yup- day 5 here and my house is sparkling

I used to like drinking wine and cleaning... as it turns out, I kind of half assed it, especially after a couple of glasses. Sober cleaning, I can really get it done!

Chrissy, I did feel bursts of energy too, which surprised me.

I was the same in my first couple months. Cleaned like crazy and spruced the place up with new curtains, blinds etc.

I think partly to keep myself busy on the weekends during time I would have spent in a bar. Also...after I was sober and looked around. I saw all that I had neglected.

I also had some extra money that was no longer going to booze, and that helped fuel my home improvements:-)

Thanks for the feedback, all. Have a lovely night! On to day 4 - perhaps I will re-shingle the roof in the morning

Wow Chrissy, well done on both day 4 and the energy. I'm the total opposite when I go through my first week (7th time this one round) I'm so unmotivated and lethargic. Hats off to you all for being so energetic. I'm hoping that once I'm back at work tomorrow (2 week break) it will break my cycle of getting up and floating around for the whole day but not getting anything done.

HAHAHAAAAAAAA, you beat me to it Dee!

What a concept, all of us lethargic sober people let all the full of energy sober people like Chrissy come over and clean when they're done with their own places

Chrissy, it all levels out, take advantage of the energy and congrats on your 3 days!

I am very excited about THIS. My bar tabs would get... exorbitant at times. All that money wasted in such a negative direction. Now, to use it for something positive/necessary, will be fantastic. Just another perk, along with, you know, not killing yourself slowly every day

I am working on 19 days sober today, and have found myself doing a lot of cleaning this past few weeks to keep myself occupied and not thinking about drinking. I can actually see clearly now and realize I have neglected my home as everything in my life has come second to my addiction in the past. No more. Time to clean up my life in more ways than one.
