Hello. I have decided to join soberrecovery.com as an adjunct to my involvement in AA. The latter has given me some concerns, largely relating to the God concept and to my perception of the lack of warmth in some of the groups I have visited.

My first foray into one of the threads in soberrecovery.com happened to be rather relevant to my latter concern and confirmed some of the thoughts I had just arrived at myself - viz. refraining from expecting too much of the other members of the groups and thus turning the spotlight onto myself rather than criticising others.

I look forward to seeing whether this site proves to be of value to me and whether I can prove to be of value to it.
