My friend was the new victim of addiction. He overdosed yesterday.

Just goes to show you not to go back out. It could of been me. It could of been you.

We had a short little relapse together for the past week or two. I realized it was ridiculous and we had to stop so i told him we gotta stop talking to each other because we trigger each other......he sort of agreed but I dont think he really had intentions of stopping. I stopped, he didnt. He's now dead.

We were just talking about how stupid it is that people do so much that they end up overdosing. He never thought it would happen to him, well it did and now he's dead.

That's the thing about overdosing, you never think its gunna happen to you, until it does.

Sorry about your friend and it's a great point. I don't think about that consequence a lot, but there's plenty of ways alcohol could've gotten me dead over the years.

I have lost so many people to drugs..dead..dead is forever.

Sorry about your friend, FallenAlien. You are 100% correct- when you relapse or don't take sobriety seriously you're playing Russian roulette with your life. That makes me vigilant in guarding against complacency. I was very lucky that I was able to stop cold turkey on the first attempt. It may not be so "easy" the next time, and if I let there be a next time it may be the last.
