Sobering reminder
I was just reading my morning paper online and there was a report of the first cold related death of the season. A fifty year old man who died of hypothermia with the secondary cause of death being chronic and acute alcoholism. None of us want to be that seasonal milestone statistic.
Lets stay strong.
Lets stay strong.
Ruby, I work as a medical transcriptionist and every year, when the cold weather starts, I see reports like this coming out of the ER. People losing digits, losing limbs to frostbite...
I remember one particularly horrifying one where the person had passed out half in and half out of the street in the snow and was run over b/c the motorist could not see him in the piles of snow.
Such a waste of a potentially good, helpful, useful human life.....
