36 hours and need alternative drink selection
So it's only been 36 hours for me but day 1 I already felt like I need some other drinks to choose from around the house. What has worked for others?

diet mountain dew works for me, but sweet drinks helped with the cravings as well as candy in the beginning.
I recently started a thread on this topic. Some suggestions were ginger beer ( not alcoholic) or ginger ale, barley water with seltzer and lime, tonic water and lime. I mix tomato juice with lemon and a bit of pickle juice. Sort of a mock Bloody Mary. Someone suggested a Shirley temple.
Just drinking water or soda or coffee gets to me after a while.

China mist passion fruit tea. It's unsweetened it's amazing and it's better served cold over ice!
I also drink way to much coffee, and tons of flat water id stay clear of carbonation not good for a stomach lining that's likely impaired due to excess alcohol

I like seltzer, plain or with a splash of fruit juice (orange or cranberry).
Hot drinks, just because they are different than cold wine and seem to help break the craving cycle. I have been exploring the world of herbal teas, sometimes with a half teaspoonful of honey.
And a cup of hot chocolate before bed. I figure I'm saving hundreds of calories by not drinking wine and can afford the comfort of the hot chocolate.

I'd personally stick with as much flat water as you can handle. It will help with the detoxing and dehydration (especially if you hit the night sweat phase). Caffeine will not help with dehydration, but if you must, obviously anything caffeinated will be better than an alcoholic beverage.
I'm making milk shakes in the morning with a fresh banana, sugar and a bit of vanilla essence. Really nice but I've put on a bit of weight! Still, when I was drinking I didn't eat for days on end, so it's probably not a big problem. A nurse weighed me last me week and she said that my Body Mass Index was fine. I'd rather be a little plump than drunk!
Herbal tea hot, herbal tea cold, herbal tea in the pot 2 days old.
I take some tea, chill it, and add some sparkling water for soda like drink with no calories.
You can gets lots of herbal teas cheap by the pound on Amazon in the U.S.
I really like Davidson's Brand. Cheap, organic, and many tasty flavors. Try Herbal Cranberry Orange (red and fruity) or you can get mint / mint chamomile flowers and make something really relaxing before bed. All are good over ice as well.

I, too, have been into tea lately... and also I walk around the house with a water bottle filled with ice water at all times. It really does help to have it on hand and I end up drinking it without even thinking about it. When I go out to lunch or dinner i'll get diet coke with grenadine as a treat
My sober friend loves nonalcoholic beer and it helps them with cravings.

Hot tea! I'm spending a small fortune on teavana teas, but it's less than I spent on wine and it's good for me, so I consider it money well spent. My current favorite is white chocolate peppermint and when I need some caffeine, I mix in some javavana mate.
