Going on week 4
I am having thoughts about drinking. Pretty pathetic considering what hell alcohol has put me through. Yikes! However, its late and I will not be clinging to those thoughts.
kissimee54, great job on 4 weeks! that's amazing!
don't listen to those thoughts, they don't have a say anymore in your life
they can be especially pesky when we are overly Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired (HALT)
so be careful not to put yourself in those situations, when you can avoid it.

Thanks I didn't mess it up, its just so frustrating having those unwelcome voices and especially after the hell of living in my addiction. After several relapses its like enough already! I'm so wanting them to stop.
I have heard it said that being alone with one's own thoughts is like being alone in the worst neighborhood in town. When we find ourselves alone with negative thoughts, we must get out of ourselves to overcome them. Pick up a phone and talk to somebody, read a book, do a chore that needs doing, help somebody else with their problems... all of these work well. Good luck and this too shall pass.
