Welcome Marley!

One way to avoid booze is to spend time on this forum. And you'll find other people with social anxiety at AA meetings.

Don't put yourself in situations where you would normally drink. Parties, social gatherings, concerts...

It's easier to not be around it than it is to fight the temptation to drink when it's in your face.

Sober up for long enough, it gets better. Confidence builds. I work with my therapist on anxiety. I force myself to get into conversations. Some people need meds, not recommending it. If you have to, it's not a bad thing. They have helped me tremendously

to SR! The best way to avoid booze is to stay away from situations featuring it; parties, bars, etc. And whatever you do, don't take that first drink. Just don't drink one day at a time. Sober living rocks!
