Its in the simple moments that I am most grateful. I have the time to devote to little things that may not matter to anyone else, but they make my life complete. Last nights mission, to make meatballs and Chocolate Banana Bread. Hang my clothes. Wash the dishes after making the meatballs and Banana Bread (Now, that is an accomplishment to be proud of!) Today's mission was to get in all my assignments and discussion posts, and to do it with 110% of my mind. None of this would have happened before when the only thing that mattered was a big glass of wine.....and nothing else. Nothing else mattered. Yet, everything else matters today.


I am not going back.
I am happy to be here.

I remember those little things being so overwhelming when I was drinking. I'd get so disorganized & frazzled. It's so nice to have a satisfying day - we can accomplish anything.

It's wonderful to appreciate the simple things in life.......we let them slip away when we're drinking and rediscovering them is precious.

I never got much satisfaction out of anything when I was drinking. Now most things please me. Mopping the floor is a joy!!!!!

Amen to this ! There are so many small things that I never noticed (or I would complain about) when I was drinking from observing the seasons to doing the ironing ! I take great pleasure in them all.

I remain ever grateful for my sobriety !
