60 days - Gratitude
60 days - Gratitude
So I celebrate my 12th wedding Anniversary and 60 Days sober today. I am home in bed sick with a chest cold. Its fitting really, as the past 30 days were more or less a kick in the balls compared to the first 30, which were pink cloud"ish."
The 2nd 30 have been met with cleaning up messes personally and professionally, learning more about myself, my problems, butting heads with Step #3, figuring things out with my wife, dealing with traumatic events in my childhood - basically all the stuff I would drink to subdue. Despite all the baggage that has come along this month, I do, honestly, feel better sober - although I do hope I get some pink back for the next month.
Congrats to my fellow SR journeymen and woman for also hitting 2 months with me:
Renard, Fools Gold, Ornithology, AdvBike.
Thanks to SR too.
I am grateful to have my life back sober in good and bad times.

Good going jdooner!
The pink cloud comes and goes. The more you stick with it and find those sobriety legs the more you just become comfortable, and happy, with sobriety in general.
I hope that you feel better soon!

Congrats, Jdooner! 60 days is awesome. Thank you for this post. Just hit 30 days and I'm gearing up now to begin the real work (only on step 1)!
Hang in there! Life is full of ups and downs and from what I see/hear, it's a much better ride sober!
Get well soon and happy anniversary!!

Congrats on 2 months and 12 years both are huge accomplishments and both take a tremendous amount of work!!!!
There sure are lots of ups and downs to this journey, right now is your moguls but you will soon come to the pristine uncharted slopes again all powder
Enjoy your day and take in all your success!

Way to go JD! Thanks for being so open in sharing your feelings and experiences. It opened my eyes early on and has been very helpful and thought provoking for me. I am also learning to be more honest with myself and others and am facing up to a lot of buried sentiments. This is the part that was always missing in my prior attempts.
Take care of yourself and congrats on 12 years and 60 days!

Thanks AO - Funny, after the blow me spat I always think of Mel Gibson with you. Sorry could not help, inside joke. I am glad you are doing well too. I am hoping I remind you of the lost guy in the hotel room pouring out his mini bar in the toilet in Germany.
Funny, I was going on step #4 a month ago and just realized this week that I am only truly on step #1. This recovery process is really like climbing a sand dune, two steps up and one step back but at least directionally we are going the right way.
Thanks everyone for the support.
