I didn't exactly proclaim at a dinner party! I was sitting next to my godfather who was the one pouring the wine and I told him. But it was a family occasion and so it was appropriate. But in general I agree! I don't make a point of it but if it comes up I am honest about it. If you say no to "a drink" people often ask you "why"? As though it makes you odd somehow. Sad really.
