Fifty days alcohol free!
Fifty days alcohol free!
Made it thru fifty days. Working on healing the gut now by cutting out gluten and will be making bone broth, which I hear is very healing and nutritious. The Martinis (and gluten) apparently did some digestive damage over the years.
BTW, I have very little desire to drink after fifty days, so it has gotten easier over time. I have NO desire to go thru withrawal again.

Great!! It's good to hear these stories.
This isn't medical advice, since it's a vitamin thing. But you might want to look in to vit. D supplements. Unless you live in a place where the sun shines brightly all the time, vit. D supplements are really helpful. I take 800 IU a day myself.
Just curious. How is your life different now from when you were drinking?

Love this post! I'm at 55 days and agree. The constant obsession seems to have eased. Detox is the worst and I'm very pleased at the energy and overall feeling of being OK! I went to treatment 3 years ago and have been faithful to AA ever since but I was NOT WILLING to surrender! This is the longest I have gone without a drink since I was like 17, and I'm 40! I feel fantastic. Sobriety Rocks!!
