From what I can tell, the third month basically has been easier on many levels than the two previous ones, and there is improvement, but some things are not necessarily so easy to measure. The most important change for me appears to be a sneaky movement towards the being the person I really am, bit by bit, maybe mostly even unnoticed. But the small things tell big truths.
One thing that I appreciate and is kick ass is the improved confidence. I no longer avoid people in the same way (except those that I don't want to be around for other reasons) and feel more comfortable in public places and when dealing with other human units at a close range. Maybe at a shop, phone or anywhere else.
Yet the complacency must not gain ground. Sobriety is such a valuable thing. Beyond the illusion can be found a greater reality, I feel. Good luck on your sobriety people.
Cool beans! congratulations I am at three months and four days so we are on the same time frame.
My experience is similar; in the third month I started to feel more outgoing as well. Even joined the church choir! (I'm not religious but I like to sing and I get to spend time with my parents, I'd be silly to let my "religious" beliefs keep me from that)
What did you notice in the way of physical changes, if any? Better skin, eyes, hair? Weight loss? Renewed dedication to healthy eating habits?
And what do you think was most important, the "secret to your success" that maybe you didn't get or understand back when you were having trouble getting / staying sober?
Just throwing those out as discussion questions
