I am in the military, I can't just go to any doctor. I have an appointment on the 16th. It was the earliest I could get. I bought some over the counter sleep aid. I took one with my trazodone. I was able to sleep last night. I spent 2 months in rehab two years ago. I remember that when I was there I could not keep my eyes open past 9 pm. I have quit on my own in the past, but have never had insomnia this bad.
congratulations sleepless!!!! I'm proud of you for not giving up. Keep up the good work, it will only get better as you put more space between now and your last drink. The worst is over, things will only get better, not worse.
It took about a week for sleep to start to come naturally after I quit. The first 2-3 days I slept maybe an hour total the entire night and I wouldn't really even call that sleep. Now, at almost a month sober, I am enjoying a deep and sound sleep. I used to wake up to a guy starting his truck every morning and I thought it was just him being rude. Now I sleep right through it even with my windows open. Keep at it and it will get better!
