Allen Carr Easy Way book

Hey Everyone,
I know there have been threads about this book before and I just read it last week. I can't recommend it enough. It really got through to me and made me realize that to successfully quit, you really need to change your whole mindset about alcohol and addiction or else you'll always be fighting an uphill battle. I haven't had a drink since I finished it last week and although I know it's early, I'm almost sure this book has helped me finally quit. Check it out if you haven't already..

I have it, but I did not love it. I do need to finish it. I was almost done with it. It was ok, but I did not like his writing style.

I have the RR book here. Just came today. No time yet to read it. After the kids go to bed I will start it.

I have both books in my little collection, and they are two of the most important to my sobriety. Recommended.

I just recently read the one on quitting smoking. Highly recommend. He used the word "escape" for the quit and I knew it was going to help. That's the way I felt when I quit drinking. I could see it with the alcohol but the nicotine had a greater hold on me.

Love it. Check Rational Recovery and Kick the Drink. Kick the Drink by Jason Vale is and was my favorite.

I used his smoking book to quit, which I did over 20 years ago. It was a great help in re-framing smoking as an enemy and not a friend.

I didn't find the same approach worked as well with alcohol when I tried his book on drinking some years later. I can see how it could work for many though. Certainly worth a look.

Have not heard of Kick the Drink, and going to pull out Easy Way again. Started RR last night, but was tired. Only got through 9 pages.
