I went out tonight..

As per my post earlier, I went out to a friends house with my Wife to see our 2 close friends and believe it or not I did not smoke any pot and have decided to say goodbye to it all together. What you were all saying on the thread earlier played on my mind and made sense. I chose to NOT smoke it and I tell you what! I had a brilliant evening! I ate a massive Pizza (all to myself lol burrrp) and had 4 cans of 7up Lemonade. Usually on a drunk night we would of been out till 4 or 5am but tonight we came home at 11pm. My wife was drinking and so was our 2 friends and I found it a real test to start with but kept reminding myself that 'u don't drink anymore RJY so it doesn't matter' and I even had a little dance around my friends lounge and much laughter was had. My friends even told me they are proud of me and they actually respected me (so did my Wife) by actually asking me if I minded them drinking on the phone before we went round there, and if I did then they would happily not drink. I appreciated that but said that they could drink. I had a fantastic evening and stayed 100% sober! I'm so ready to give the pot up as its really not a great thing to do for your mental state I guess. Sobriety is all about living life on life's terms and I really do see that now. PS. Sorry to anyone I offended in my post earlier I really didn't mean to. )

Glad you had a good night sober RJY Being around those temptations and still enjoying yourself is something to be very proud of. I wouldn't trust myself but I'm still very early in sobriety.

See that? It can be done RJY - and you're doing great. Very proud of you and happy for this good outcome. Each time we get over one of these hurdles it strengthens us. There really is life after alcohol.

Oh my goodness RJY..I saw your earlier post but did not respond...mostly because I have no experience with pot. It's awesome what you did and its inspiring. You did good.
