Man I want to go to the store right now!!!
Man I want to go to the store right now!!!
Day 3....I'm fighting with all my might...don't have to work until 3 pm tomorrow so will be ok to sleep in,..don't want to,..but oh damn do I want to!!!!
Imagine how bad that urge would be today if you had given in to it last night. It can be really hard at first when your brain keeps coming at you like that. Just do whatever you have to do to start stringing those sober days together.
Just wait it out another 20 minutes... The stores will be closed and you will have the satisfaction of having made it through day 3, and be ready for day 4. You can do this. Find something to take your mind off of going to the store. Surely, something needs cleaning or you can find a television program to watch.
You could open the chat if you need real-time support.

Friend-
Do yourself a favor and fast forward the movie. If this doesn't work, there's nothing wrong with getting down on your hands and knees and asking God to help you.
I do it all of the time
There's 1440 minutes in a single day. There's less than 70 minutes left in this one. You can do this.

Awesome MN! I know I mentioned AA to you yesterday and you said you had not gone because it was only day 2. There are no rules and many go to AA even before day 1. I am not preaching AA, as a matter of fact you can search for my posts and see that I am on the fence as to whether or not I will stay active but..in my first days of sobriety AA was an integral part of my staying sober. I am on day 31 and still go a couple days a week. It might be a good way to fill some of this empty, isolated time which seems to get you so tempted and you might actually learn something. Just a thought, proud of you that you made it to day 4.

Those first days are hard when crazy thoughts try to trick you into thinking you are missing out on quality drinking time. It's not worth feeling like garbage the next morning because you gave in.
This is so true and helpful...sliding doors moment, which choice leads to the best outcome?
