Welcome to a chance of a life back the way you’d like. To oversimplify the goal, we just don’t pick up the first drink, get honest with OURSELF, involve our self in AA and read and post here. That sounds easy so what about tomorrow? Secret to many, repeat the above! Depending on the individual, remember honesty, we work to lessen the effects of the triggers that trip us up which is usually in our heads being directed by what some refer to as a shyte fairy that wants us to drink. The great message I got was keep coming and life will be better because we get better.
Welcome Odysseus! We're so happy you joined us - it's a great place.
I wanted it to be my last time when I joined here 7 yrs. ago - and it was! Much to my surprise SR was just the thing I needed to find the strength to quit. I think it was the feeling of relief I got from reading what others had been through - they were just like me. No one was going to judge me - they all understood. The support was amazing - and I've been here every day since. I hope being here helps you to let go of alcohol and begin your new life.
