grrrr...fell off

lots of reasons
no excuses
didnt want to to do it
and most importantly feel like Ive let the SR community down. Sorry all

sometimes, Im just like a zombie- I'll get the thought of having/buying a drink, then no matter how rational I am, and how much I play the tape forwards, its as though Ive got no autonomous control over my limbs or cashcard, its like i'm inside my body, watching myself purchase and drink alcohol.

What IS THIS?

square one, but positive.

You know what to do. Get back up on the wagon and make changes in your life to accommodate sobriety.

Nah, you didn't let me down, I only feel let down if you didn't come back.

i remember that disconnect. i describe it as like static on the tv - there's no conscious thought, just acting on the urge and doing everything to get my drink on.

hang onto your positivity, and best of luck.

I know exactly how you feel. I went through that many times. No big event pushed me, just the urge and off I went. Only thing to do now, is try again, if you really want to, and figure out what you need to do to give you the best chance to succeed this time.

Good luck.

"A drinking relapse doesn’t mean you’re a failure or that you’ll never be able to reach your goal. Each drinking relapse is an opportunity to learn and recommit to sobriety, so you’ll be less likely to relapse in the future."

...don't know who quoted this but sounds spot on to me!

I'd be willing to bet that every single day, everyone in SR is fighting that urge. And sometimes people give in to it - and everyone who didn't give in (and everyone who did) is then reminded of why we're here in the first place.

No the beauty is that you've made the decision to test your resolve and proved that ,
1, one drink too many 12 not enough,
2, you should watch out when you feel confident to slip and do something extra.
Keep going your doing brilliantly. We all know how it goes it just takes time to get it right!
Good luck and keep on.
John.
