Sobriety checkpoint in my city this weekend -- bring it on!

Because if you stop me I will be stone cold sober. I'm 5 months sober today. Thank you to everyone and especially to my HP.

Yes!!

Congrats on your clean time! That is huge.

I used to avoid eye contact with police while driving because I was always high and had drugs in my car. Now when I see a cop, I wave and make funny faces.

Isn't that a great feeling? Knowing you are sober, straight, and present? Ready for anything now? Good onya. Onward!

I love checkpoints now! They wave me through even though I'm always like "Somebody frisk me, dammit!!!"

Congrats on the Month.... Weird (not really), but I now think checkpoints actually are a good idea.

Went through my first one few weeks ago. Never saw one when I was drinking.

Congratulations on 5 months!! Isn't it GREAT not worrying about checkpoints?

It's been a long time ago, but I was stopped in a bad section of time. Don't remember his reason (though I know it was because of where I was...I was on the way to work, though).

I told him "you can check my car, bring in the dogs, test my urine or do a hair follicle test...I'm a recovering addict and you won't find a thing!!". He laughed, congratulated me on recovery, and told me to have a nice day

Things like this are priceless.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

There was one the other night when I was leaving my GF's. I started to panic a bit, and then it hit me: WTF am I worried about? LOL

My travel times/routes have changed a tad. I no longer worry as much about the areas cops patrol heavily. I just slow down and I'm golden.
