I am a newcomer to this site/service. My sobriety birthday is 4-22-2010. I have gained so much through AA but have not been attending meetings and working the steps like I did a LOT my first year and some my second. Want to get back into a solid recovery schedule, so I don't lose what I have gained. Hope to use this site as another tool to protect and strengthen my recovery. .

Hi and welcome. I and others have observed that when sobriety takes second place in our priorities the shite fairy is building within us and the insidious monster takes over and gives us bad messages that we start to believe. Most of us that slip stop going to meetings and start with the thoughts of I wasn't that bad, I can have one, I want to be normal, I'm very stressed, I want more excitement in life and on and on, it's the same old same old and it's been said "your misery is refundable." What's wrong with "the solid recovery" you used? It seems to have worked. AT times that fairy has us looking for the softer easier way. Remember the words "If it works DON'T fix it?" BE WELL
