Alcohol impacts the body in so many ways, from liver damage to bone marrow suppression.... So the short answer is: alcohol will certainly not help you here.

I used alcohol for everything. Most times it made things worse.
There's always a healthier more sensible alternative.
Best thing for a cold is time, rest and fluids - not booze.

Alcohol is toxic to the bone marrow, which is one of the reasons alcoholics are more likely to have anemia and low white blood cell and platelet counts. This particular effect of alcohol would not lead directly to aches and pains.
