AA wasnt working but SR seems to really be
I believe fewer people will be harmed by their addictions because of alphaomega expressing her deep and valid thoughts and feelings for others to read and understand. THANK YOU.
Thank you for the support.
I hesitated posting about my experience as I was legitimately concerned that I might offend or worse, validate , someone's excuse for not getting sober. But after thinking long and hard about it, (and I am by no means waving the I know everything now because I'm 18 days sober flag) I thought maybe someone might be helped by what I'm admitting to. And I am so grateful that someday, if I change my mind, it will be there ready and willing to allow me to lean on it.
I knew it wouldn't be well received by some, but I also genuinely feel that it might serve the rest of us who just can't click with the program.
Im just trying to stay sober, and AA, for some reason i have yet to fully understand, makes me want to drink. Like, a lot.
There I said it....yikes....

That's perfectly normal for some people to feel that way towards AA. I have had many friends feel the same way, so they tried an alternate program of recovery and they are all doing wonderfully so far.
