2 Weeks Sober and Feeling Good

Today is a great day and it is because I quit drinking two weeks ago. What makes it more awesome for me is all of you on SR. I visit this site daily - multiple times - to remind myself how great it is and will be by not drinking.

My health has improved dramatically, my husband is so much happier and most of all my mind is clear and I don't wake up shakey and disoriented.

Thanks again for the support.

As an insomniac on day two, I really appreciate this post. Thank you! It feels like there's no hope. But you're proof of it. I'm proud of you.

Congratulations on the two weeks. You just have to keep doing it one day at a time. And whatever you do don't get too complacent.

Natom.

MTGBIS - you can do it - I promise. The first week was hard and I know about the insomnia. I finally went to the Dr's and got a short term prescription for the anxiety and insomnia. Wow what a difference it made.

I live in McDonough - we are practically neighbors. Keep up the good work and I will support you 100%. You can do it!

Natom - thank you for your kind words. I agree, never get complacent. I know a relapse is a day, hour or minute away. Fortunately for me (or if I want to think negatively) unfortunately; my liver is at risk if I ever drink again. 3 weeks ago I was told I had a whole list of medical problems that would eventually lead me to a painful death.

I have chosen to live and live healthy and happy. Thank goodness all my medical issues are reversible if I make the choice to eat a healthy diet and NOT DRINK. One day at a time and I am doing that with a positive attitude and prayer because I do not want to be depressed and an unhappy sober person. I did that to long as a DRUNK - LOL!

McDonough! Gone With The Wind! My mom is still in Macon and a recovering alcoholic. I'm in LA so I'm a bit far from my real-life support group, but I'm so glad I found SR today. Finding a doc tomorrow for help with detox. Thank you for your sweet words.

Sorry to hear about your liver, but so glad it's reversible. I'm here and available if you need a newbie to talk to. I'm up all night anyway, ha.
