Hi first time soberrecovery.com user
I just had my 31st birthday and don't want to live the alcohol centered life anymore. This is my 10th day sober and I feel much better physically and mentally. This is also my first time abstaining for more than two days since being 21. I have never been to AA nor do i wish to attend, i feel like i can beat this disease with will, power and the support of the forum. I have viewed this site in the past and its a great resource, hopefully it will help with support managing my alcoholism. Thanks for reading bye for now... Mike
Mike, good work on the 10 days. Those can definitely be the worst. It sounds like you are ready to quit and that strength and this website will hopefully be enough to stay sober. Please remember that it is ok to ask for help. Before you take that first drink look at all the alternatives for support.
You are wise to give it up while you're still young. That way you won't have a lot of regrets when you get older. Stick around here, read and post, and enjoy the journey. I'm glad you joined the family!
