New to site, hello all

I have battled with addiction for years, just realizing that it was a problem with a real solution recently. Of course it took facing five or more years in prison to make that wake-up call to my stubborn brain. But I'm here now and ready to get my life back and move forward.
Looking for outpatient rehab options that are available to poor people! The only one I found is about $500/week...sounds like a great program but I can't afford it and have NO insurance.

Welcome to SR.

Addiction to what? Not that it matters. But there are free options for recovery...AA and NA. And I understand the Salvation Army has rehab or maybe detox available.

Alcohol was all in last few years, been to a few AA meetings, not sure that will satisfy court as "enough". My experiences there have been not as good as I wanted, last meeting they asked for a show of hands of anyone willing to be sponsors, I approached one person and said "Hi Jason", he said "hi", turned and walked away...I left.

Well, you might embrace it a little more passionately this time. If you go to jail, there will be no leaving.

It sometimes takes a couple of meetings at a couple different groups to find a fit.

I hope coming here helps too!

Welcome to the family, Gary! I think you'll enjoy being part of us - we all understand what you're going through. I felt so alone until I found SR.
