I am One Year Sober Today; Newcomers, i was you. You can be me!

Dear SR,

If it weren't for you, another year would have gone by, and my life would be in further ruin.

I'd be lost in bad health, grief, self pity, isolation, debt, self loathing, hopelessness and shame.

Or worse.

Newcomers, don't let another day, month, or year go by before changing. I am blown away that I did this... but because of SR, I did.

No one in my life really gets what this means like you all do. So it means the most to me to share it with you. I know you understand it without me trying to explain. What a gift that is for me!

Thank you from the bottom of my big mushy heart!

Love,
EternalQ.

Great job making the one year mark. I'm looking forward to mine aswell come March. I too look back at what I was living like and so don't miss it. Life has certainly become better and yes easier. Funny just by going at it with eyes open and with the one day at a time attitude we can live a positive healthy life. Again nice job.

Thank you so much guys! I just got a spa to fit me in for a manicure and facial this afternoon which I would never normally do. This sober anniversary birthday feels so much more fun and important than a regular birthday!!

Congratulations! I remember what if felt like to be one day sober! That was something that I wasn't able to achieve for the last 4 years of my drinking. 2 days sober was monumental. I never dreamed I could make an entire month. Then 90 days (which is monumental for some of us), 6 months, a year, a decade... and to be able to now say that I've been sober for decades is somethig that was completely and totally impossible and unimaginable at the time of last drink. It can absolutely be done, by anyone. I'm certain of this, because of how impossible I believed it to be for myself. Congratulations on a year, and best wishes for many many more.
