help

I'm almost 5 months sober, and I'm debating whether to go to a meeting at lunch or to a bar.

This sucks. Sorry.

At least I'm here telling on myself, ahead of time.

God grant me the serenity, please....

Get some food and go to a meeting! I wanted to drink today and I went to a meeting and shared about it. I also ate some food. You might just be hungry.

You know the answer, it's within in you, you posted because you DON'T want to hit the bar.

What's prompted this after 5 months if I may ask?

Please go to a meeting. I relapsed at about 5 months and it was horrible. You'll feel so much better about yourself if you don't give in. If you go to a meeting and share honestly, I'm SURE you'll help someone enormously.

I hope you find a meeting, dont even have to share but sometimes the serenity of being around the (as we call them in my group) "Perfectly Broken People" you can felt heard without saying a word.

Keep saying the serenity prayer!

My one and two month coins have the prayer on them, but it is illegible. I can read the prayer on my three month coin. So to me, that says that early in recovery, I memorized the serenity prayer but really didn't need it. Now, I go back and read it because I actually need it.

Sorry to hear you are feeling like drinking.

Hit the meeting instead. I dont see how you could regret it.

I agree with MyTimeNow - search for an answer within yourself. You know why did you write this in here.

But if you'd ask me instead - go to a meeting.

5 months is a huge accomplishment. You don't deserve to feel how awful you will feel if you to the bar. I agree to eat something and go to the meeting first. Good luck.

Go to the meeting or just stay in the office, whatever works. Posting here is a positive, you are reaching out for help. Just take it one hour at a time. The urge will pass, let it go.

got a little something to eat, went to the meeting and received a much needed attitude adjustment.

Cunning, baffling, indeed.

Thanks for your support, I'm feeling better, back on the beam.
