Unfortunately, with all the efforts I have made and all the counseling and despite 9 months of recovery my son cannot wait to go away to college and get stoned. Hard to get past this. Thank u.

i cannot imagine what you are going thru. our son is graduating this year. i don't ever wish to see him messed up. it would kill me. however, that being said I continue to drink in front of him. its a crazy messed up thinking.

I was once that son that broke my parent's heart, time and time again year after year. It still bothers me today even though one of my parents have passed. My Mom has moved on and forgiven me, I guess. It just takes time, your son will eventually grow up and 'get it'...he'll know its time for love, a career, children, it just takes time and him finding his own way. Just pray for him and cherish every second, but as a parent myself now I know that worry will never go away. Good luck to your son, and you.
