Iam still an alcoholic!!!
Iam an alcoholic there is no way of trying to convince myself other wise these days, I have accepted my fate and am comfortable with it.
But I never went on days long benders nor did I drink in the morning ever, but I caused enough devastation in my 1 night binges to more than compensate for that.
So to the new comers who only binge once a week, month etc it does not matter when you drink or really how much you drink, it matters what happens to you once you take that first drink...
Alcoholics are all differant.

Good post, I could also stay booze free for weeks even months, but when I drank all the control was lost. I had no control over the amount I drank and no control about the durations of the binges.
Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic, even if you don't drink anymore.
My advice for everyone, see your non-drinking as a strength, not a weakness. You will always be there for your family, day or night, you can always drive, you will always have a sober, clear mind and view on things, your health will improve... the list goes on and on.
