After work today....
Came home after a really stressful day. Did not exercise/work out.
...tempted....to drink...daughter said " want an apple?", I said "sure". Then we sat on the couch and we ate apples.
I was fascinated by the pleasure she got from an apple. She enjoyed the taste, crunchieness (sp?), and the time with her dad.
I did not drink today after work.

Thanks peers.
I truly was just staring at her. She was engrossed with an apple.
I worry about not being able to enjoy a football game without drinking. She really clicked something in me last night.
People always say enjoy the little things, but this was an amazing display of what it means to do so.
Later she did yell at me for asking her to get ready for bed
SR, enjoy your apples today!

Not all poignant and significant moments in our lives have to be overly dramatic, move-of-the-week things. What a wonderful, tender moment you had with your daughter, and shifted everything you had running through your head to the simple act of being present. Amazing.
Thanks for sharing - it was a pleasure to read.
