My first move towards to recovery
The greatest faith is born in the hour of despair. When we can see no hope and no way out, then faith rises and brings the victory.” –
The first move towards recovery for me was to get to meetings. I had to replace my drinking with meetings.....
A meeting a day at least the first ninety days is a good idea, for me anyways, I am doing another 90 in 90........
There is a special feeling that comes over me with my illness when I discovered that there are other people who share similar difficulties, past and present........
I had to get unstuck.........
I cannot expect any program to work for me if my mind and body are still clouded by alcohol......
My best thinking is what got me into trouble. I had to recognize my need for change........
My illness involves much more than drinking, and so my recovery must involve much more than simple abstinence.....
Recovery is an active change of my ideas and attitudes.......
I have to listen.......
I have to begin by developing a concept of God as I understood Him.Whatever that was. I had to begin to use the steps to improve my attitudes.....
Staying sober is necessary if I want the ability to face my problems. If I had problems in the past it is unlikely that simple abstinence will provide the solution to them.......
I have a serious thinking problem.......
I need help, if I could have done this alone I would have a long time ago. Thanks for being here!! I am having a beautiful day hope you are as well.

For me even before meetings I had to give up. I had to stop fighting everything and everybody and listen to people who knew more than I did. I had to admit that everytime I got into the ring with alcohol I lost
