I am sorry you can't sleep H.I.A.... This is probably the most common complaint in early sobriety. I was so sleep deprived I thought I would collapse. But I survived and so will you.
One suggestion .... And I'm serious about this ..... Don't fight it. Go with it. Give yourself permission to just be still and rest. Rest is underrated. Once I learned to quit fighting my sleepless nights, ironically my sleep improved. Google up "Sleep Hygiene" for more info. ( don't be put off by the "hygiene"..... It's not what you think).

Hey 321 ,
My sleep has never been that great , i tend to have one night a week where i can't sleep at all, usually sunday so i'm tired for work on a monday !
Check how much caffene your drinking , i know i had more tea and coffee after giving up and it kept me awake .
keep the air fresh in the car and put on some enlivening music , rock pop or dance something with a good beat to it or a shock jock , remember to stop have a break walk around a bit have a coffee on your journey or pull over and have a power nap somewhere safe if you feel too tired .
Take care , M

Everyone's different, but I find that lying in bed awake is almost as replenishing as sleep. It's kind of eerie though... hitting the sack and being conscious all night, but when I get out of bed, I don't feel any more tired than if I had slept.
I'd like to meet the person who has a "normal" night's sleep. Those people should be shot at birth. Who do they think they are?

Ugh!! I hate that, and it happens to me on school nights when my son and I have to get up EARLY in the AM. His school starts at 7:30, we leave the house and it's still dark out.
My head gets me all caught up and I can't sleep either on those nights, so frustrating. Hope you got to catch some more Zzzzzzzzzzz's...

I'm on day 19 here and while sleep is better I still wake up some nights. It's much better than when I was going to sleep basically drunk of course, but it's slowly getting better. Hang in there, maybe try something relaxing right before bed and try not to eat anything heavy within an hour of trying to get to sleep - espeically nothing with sugar or caffeine in it.
