Did you nix sugar or is sugar your fix?

Ohhhh sweet tarts how I love you....thats been my crutch for the last few days...
I know I cant keep doing this substitution thing. I feel like mainlining loafs of soft white bread (which I don't eat normally).
I never have been one for sweets really...don't like ice cream ( I know my husband thinks that is obscene). I always said rather flippantly that "I drink my sugar".
I eat healthy most of the time - so this experience is really odd for me. any suggestions before my teeth rot?

i use jolly ranchers and fruit juice for my sugar fix. I don't like soda that much and I am active enough that 3 or 4 jolly ranchers a day, are not going to hurt me.
Oh, and I switched to white bread for my lunch sandwiches after years of whole grain.
I found that when I quit drinking I actually lose weight and look healthier. Even though I seem to eat more.
Mainlining white bread is better for me than mainlining fifths of vodka.

There seem to be varying opinions on this (like everything else around here).
At the detox I went through, we weren't allowed sugar or caffeine but they allowed smoke breaks.
There was a thread here by someone who loved coffee, then somebody responded about how coffee had ruined his life. You could find the same thing about sugar (or alcohol or gambling...)

Never had a sweet tooth before and now my AV has decided demanding sugar might get better results. Gummy bears, oreos, twizzlers, you name it. I gave myself permission the first few months but now I have to quit that habit. The good thing is after about 3 months it really quieted down a lot. It's more habit than physical cravings now.

my kids laugh at me when i ask for their halloween candy.
as long as i am not picking up a bottle i think i am okay.
when i start slurring my words and staggering around from eating too many gummi bears maybe i will stop.

These as my new addiction for the first two years of my sobriety from alcohol. Hi I'm Itchy and I am a mintaholic. I was up to two pounds a day of the straight sugar fix of starlites. I became a fatman for the first time in my life and to be fair I did quit a three pack a day habit at the same time.
Don't do it! Work out instead, anything!
I have almost two weeks of freedom from mints.

This is a great thready. I have 0 sugar withdrawals yet I drank wine which is a major sugar rush. I find juicing takes the edge right off any craving. he pure sugar from apple, beet, carrot, ginger and greens works wonders. I am def not health nut but must sing the praises of juicing. Maybe its simply how time consuming it is?

Day 11 for me and I had a gigantic size mr goodbar candybar last night, and two small ones today. Out of chocolate and want to go to store like I would for booze. I never eat chocolate. Hope this craving is temporary. My husband said he was going to have to widen doors although hopefully he's teasing and he's glad I'm not drinking. This sugar craving is crazy!
