The bar I used to go to had pineapple slices in vodka. I had my share of them. Not really a pickle but did help me get there. They were strong.

I will probably start with green beans and cucumbers. No eggs.

You can pickle anything. Well except for bread!

Ok...I hear ya... I am perfectly fine being strange. Who wants to be normal anyway!

One of the things I did a lot of in the past, and hope to do even more of now that I"m sober is gardening and pickling. It's actually a pretty simple process, all you need is a water bath canner ( one of those big black enamel pots with a jar rack ), some jars and lids, and your ingredients.

I pickle green beans, several kids of cucumber pickles (dill, sweet chunk, bread and butter ), asparagus, peppers, brussel sprouts. Pretty much if you can grow it you can pickle it.

If anyone wants any recipes i'd be happy to share.

The garlic sounds good!

The pigs feet I will pass on. My mother used to eat them. We are Italian and there was always a lot of pickled things around.... Beside my father.

I did some reading already. Plan on trying something this weekend. See how it goes. Been wanting to also do sweet peppers .

You can also just make refridgerator pickles as well. Thats what I do with the hotdogs, just let them sit for a few days.
