today is predestined to be great

happy day 5 to me!! trust me i dont want to be that annoying newbe that is making it sound like this recovery process easy.. if you follow my post i have laughed.. cried... doubted myself.. encouraged others.. walked back and forth in my bedroom talking to myself... lol.. needless to say this has not been easy... but what i know for sure is today i am sober... today you are sober.. we are sober!!!

no matter what happens today remember that there is greatness in all of us and you were not created to fail.. recovery is apart of our journey and we are predestined for greatness.

*hugs*

I find out more and more as I go along in Alcoholics Anonymous that I am not created to fail when I'm doing God's Will.

My failures come when I think I can do it myself ... my way.

All the best.

You are not annoying! i find you refreshingly honest and funny! In the beginning sometimes I would even laugh while I was crying. Getting sober can be messy business! All the snot. Keep a box of tissues close and just keep plugging forward! I can tell you that is does get better and tissue times won't come around as often. I looked at it like a bad breakup. You know it sucks in the beginning and you miss alcohol like crazy and you fantasize about one last roll in the hay but ultimately you realize it's over and you and alcohol will never be a couple again. BOO HOO! Then alcohol becomes a distant memory and soon enough all you can think of is "What the heck was I thinking?!?!?".

Today I am sober. Today you are sober. Today we are sober! I like it!!

We are sober today! And it's a snow day! Dang Gina. Does it get any better?

I'm gonna eat cheerios, then I'm making hot chocolate, then I'm going to sew.

Yay sobriety!

I wasn't created for anything.

I just am and am privileged to have chanced upon life.

I'm glad you're doing well in your recovery and your unbridled enthusiasm is not annoying.

Just have a plan in place for when the awesomeness of being sober fades into the hum drum of everyday life.

but i think your missing the point.. life is real yes. life has challeges. yes. life has low valleys. yes. but it is what you make it. and i choose everyday that when i dnt pick up a drink my day will not be " hum drum " . everyone always says.. take it day by day.. hour by hour.. minute by minute... imagine... just imagine how our life would change if we really did....

I hear you quite well, just I don't agree.

If everything is awesome, then nothing is awesome.

If everything is fantastic, then nothing is fantastic.

All I'm trying to say, is that even if everyday is freaking amazing...we all still need a plan for the time when the awesome days blur into each other and sobriety isn't as awesome as it once was.

I mean, if you are amazed and in a constant state of enthusiasm about life, then without question...more power to ya! Just a plan in case the awesomness dials it down a notch.

Just my two cents...

Great post! The hum drum of everyday life is always going to be there, the great thing is the further you get away from drinking, the less hum drum life is! Did that make sense lol?
