Just needed to post
The reasons why I can't drink;
Blacking out and not remembering what I did or said the night before
Fell hit my head
Took 12 klonopin one night while drinking two bottles of wine
Wanted to kill myself
**** my pants while passed out
Brought to hospital via ambulance due to being so drunk and passed out
Drinking and driving
My daughter finding me passed out on kitchen floor
I need to think of these things everytime I want to pick back up and drink again.

Gr8, print that post and ceremoniously burn it! You have no need to ever experience those things again. Here are a couple tips from a recovery plan:

- Make notes that inspire your recovery and place them in conspicuous places. It might help prevent you from a relapse.
- Make a list of the options that help you when you get into the trapped feelings. Make the list when you are feeling free

Hi Theresa. I wish I'd kept a journal when I first quit. Sometimes the memories of what it was like will fade. I think it's good you're listing those things - not one of them ever has to be repeated.
Glad you are here and talking about your feelings. You can do it, Theresa.

Theresa,
Making a list helps a lot when you do it at the right time for you. My list was so long I got depressed so I categorized it according to things that I found most important.
I always like keeping a journal because I can re-read them often.

Thank you alll for the support. I'm over 7 months sober but have been struggling lately with the urge to drink again. I'm trying to remind myself what has happened when I do drink so I won't be tempted to pick up again.
All those reasons are really good gr8t2bme...
I have shameful memories too burned into the forefront of my mind. Accepting them, forgiving myself and moving forward is how I choose to deal with them.
One day they will be at the back of my mind...
hopefully your bad memories will be too
